Michele Frazier Plans Career Workshop for Displaced Correctional Professionals

Michele Frazier, candidate for New York State Senate District 51, announced today that she will be holding a career day for the corrections professionals being displaced by the closure of Sullivan Correctional in Fallsburg.

“Early in my career, I worked in placement helping folks with job searches, resumes, cover letters and career transition,” Frazier explained. “Now, as a Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi, I train many who go on to work in corrections and other areas of law and public safety. I want to use those experiences to help the hard-working folks who find themselves displaced by the closure of Sullivan Correctional and unexpectedly on the job market - one of life’s most stressful experiences. I know this career path well and can help folks package their skills and experiences to succeed in their job search.”

Frazier is offering free individual appointments on Friday August 9th from 9:30am to 4pm at the Fallsburg Public Library (12 Railroad Plaza South Fallsburg). Michele Frazier grew up in her family’s flower and greenhouse business in Oneonta - one of the largest geranium growers in the state. A former Oneonta City Council member, Michele now lives in Delhi where she is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi. She lives with her spouse and three sons, two of whom are neurodivergent. Michele is also a Real Estate Agent for a locally owned real estate company. www.michelefrazierfor51.com
